PhotoSensei Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of PhotoSensei, an app developed by Fraley Atelier (Daron Fraley). By using PhotoSensei, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, email support@photosensei.app.
Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use PhotoSensei and agree to these terms.
The app
PhotoSensei teaches phone camera skills through 86 structured lessons. Read the concept, shoot the assignment, and mark it complete to work toward your next rank. With an active Pro Monthly subscription, submit your photo for AI-generated feedback on your composition, lighting, and technique.
Accounts
PhotoSensei creates an anonymous account for you automatically — no sign-up required. Your lesson progress and purchases are tied to that anonymous account on your device.
Purchases and subscriptions
One-time unlock ($1.99 USD) — unlocks lessons 17–86 permanently. (Lessons 1–16 are free.) This is a one-time purchase tied to your store account (Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS); it doesn’t expire and isn’t tied to a specific app version. AI photo analysis is not included — that requires the Pro Monthly subscription below. Prices are shown in USD. Actual pricing varies by country and is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you purchase.
Pro Monthly ($3.99 USD/month) — a recurring subscription providing AI photo analysis, up to 20 per day. This cap is generous enough to cover normal use; if you hit it, analysis resumes the next day. Your subscription automatically renews each month at the listed price until you cancel. You can cancel your Pro Monthly subscription anytime. On Android, go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On iOS, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or open the App Store app → your account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future billing. The one-time PhotoSensei Unlock is a permanent purchase and does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Prices are shown in USD. Actual pricing varies by country and is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you purchase.
Refunds — All purchases are processed by the store you purchased through — Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) — and are subject to that store’s refund policy. I don’t independently process refunds. On Android, requests go through Google Play’s standard process (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → find the purchase → Request a refund). On iOS, requests go through Apple’s process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes — if I change prices in the future, the new price applies only to new purchases or renewals after the change; it won’t retroactively affect a subscription you’re already on without advance notice.
Acceptable use
Use PhotoSensei for its intended purpose — learning photography. Don’t submit photos containing illegal content, don’t attempt to abuse, exploit, or reverse-engineer the AI analysis system, and don’t attempt to circumvent purchase or entitlement checks.
Termination
I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to PhotoSensei if you violate these terms — including attempts to circumvent purchase checks, abuse the AI analysis system, or submit illegal content. If your access is terminated for cause, you are not entitled to a refund of prior purchases.
AI-generated feedback
Lesson feedback is generated by AI (Anthropic’s Claude) and is intended for photography education. It’s not professional, legal, medical, or safety advice, and it may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
PhotoSensei is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. I’m not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Disputes
If a disagreement arises, please email me first at support@photosensei.app — most issues can be resolved directly. If we can’t resolve something informally, either of us may pursue the matter in small claims court, or in the courts of Utah as provided under Governing Law below.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms as the app evolves. When I do, I’ll post the new version right here. These terms were last updated in July 2026.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
